Junior Beginners

Gloucester Rowing Club provides junior learn to row courses, which are run by trained coaches, at the Gloucester Sharpness Canal, from the Gloucester Boathouse on David Hook Way, Gloucester.

We typically run two courses in the summer term, one in each half term, running on Sunday afternoons, for six sessions each.

The first course, which runs from Sunday 14th April to 19th May 2024, is already well under way, and cannot take any more participants.

The dates and times for the second course are 3:15pm to 5pm on Sunday 9th June to Sunday 14th July 2024, and this one is also fully booked up, unless anyone pulls out at the last minute.

You can register an interest in doing the course next year using the booking form here :

Please let the junior coaches know if you are doing this, by emailing "junior dot coaches at gloucester hyphen rowing dot org" sorry for the odd way of writing it, but we get a lot of spam!

Places are limited to ensure we can provide a good experience for everyone taking part, so it is best to register your interest early,

The courses cost £75 this year, however we do have bursaries for families in hardship and money should never be a barrier to rowing. So do please contact the junior coaches if you would like to discuss a bursary.
