The 2026 Gloucester Spring Head will take place on Sunday March 15th.
Note : due to the heavy rain the field next to the boathouse is suitable not for general use and so we are falling back on our usual alternative parking arrangements - details can be found here.
A new version of the draw - with changed boating times for the afternoon long division - has been iuploaded, please make sure you are using this one and not the original as that had a number of issues.
While we do not expect everyone to boat at eactly the time stated, we do need a few things :
For everyone in the long course event to be boated before we boat any short course crews because they need to get through the bridge before the bay starts to fill up
For everyone in the short course event who has the marshalling zone showing "Thru bridge" to boat before the others, again because we want them through the bridge before the bay starts to fill up.
Slower crews should boat earlier - if your crew doesn't look like they will get to the start in time they may be told to turn round and row back to the boathouse
The poster can be found below - the events are all in the same divisions as in last year's Spring Head.
We have had to make a last minute change to the date for the Gloucester Spring Head, due to a clash with both a marathon race along the towpath, and a fishing competition with hundreds of competitors spread over the whole course of the head race and the space between the club and the finish.
The new date is one week earlier than originally planned, the 15th March, and so the close of entries has had to move back as well, but because we have had to delay publishing the poster while we made sure that it was actually possible to move the event rather than simply cancel it, I have also delayed the BROE opening date to make sure clubs have time to plan their entries before it opens on BROE.
