Welcome to Gloucester Rowing Club

Gloucester Rowing Club was formed in 1846 and has been supporting and encouraging rowing in Gloucestershire ever since. Currently, we boat from the Gloucester-Purton canal, just below Hempsted Bridge in a purpose built site shared with a number of partner rowing clubs as well as Gloucester Canoe Club.

The club welcomes both experienced and aspiring rowers as well as anyone wanting to try out the sport by taking part in one of our Learn to Row courses. We have an active community of members ranging in age from Juniors through to Veterans aged 80 and above. The common theme being a feeling that a healthy life style, at any age, can't be a bad thing.

Many of our members enjoy rowing for the fun of it, while others put in the extra miles to compete in local, national and international competition. In the recent past, members have also competed in the GB Squad.
