Gloucester Rowing Club is one of the oldest established rowing clubs in Great Britain and is now based on the Gloucester Sharpness canal where it enjoys one of the longest stretches of unlocked water in the country. It has enjoyed considerable success both at a local and national level over the years and a number of National Squad members started their rowing careers at Gloucester.
Thank you to everyone who helped on Saturday 17th March 2018 at the GRC's Spring 2018 Maintenance Day. It might have been cold, wet, and windy but we managed to complete an enormous number of tasks including moving and fixing boats, building storage and new racking, measuring blades, general cleaning, and lots and lots of eating!
A good day at the Schools Head for Hartpury. Their first ever boys eight at the event straight in at the deep end with the big boys, and finishing a respectable 19th out of 36 Champ/1st eights. The last crew that Tom will coach at Glos Hartpury, and technically that’s their best ever Schools Head finish, so well done! The girls quad, coached by Ben, finished a strong 2nd, which is the sixth year on the trot Hartpury have been in the top two in that event. Still early days and there’ll be plenty more to come from both squads as they move into the main regatta season.
