Club Rules and Policies

Here are a pile of policies and a raft of rules. Seriously, they exist so that the club can cater for all members equally and fairly and also get on with its neighbours. If you feel that something needs changing or that a particular issue is not being properly dealt with then either approach a member of the committee, or get it raised at the AGM. You can also send an email to the club, click on the link, above. If all that fails to satisfy, become a member of the committee yourself (see club rules)

Constitution This was agreed at the SGM of 17th September 2005
Club Rules These rules were updated following the club AGM (3rd October 2005)
Rules of Navigation Map and compass is not required on the canal, but some regard for other users is. These rules have been agreed with the Waterways Authority, they also explain what you need to do to avoid needless mishap.
Netheridge Bridge The second largest swing bridge in the UK and guidance on how not to hit it.
Care of Boats How to avoid paying huge membership fees but enjoy good equipment at the same time.
Safe Land Training Guidance for the use of ergometers, weights and how to gain maximum fitness for minimum bruises.
Junior Rowing How to set an example of good boatmanship to the seniors. (A good note for senior rowers too!)
Coxing and Steering The essential guide to coxing club boats.
Codes of Conduct How the Juniors should behave and how their wiser and more mature(!) clubmates should behave. Don't forget Rule 23, though.
Bridge Risk Assessment

Know your bridges. This is an Excel spreadsheet with descriptions and photos of bridges from Hempstead to Parkend with useful local knowledge about how to avoid collisions, damage and other unpleasantness.

Perhaps we should also have a swan and duck risk assessment.
