Gloucester Rowing Club is one of the oldest established rowing clubs in Great Britain and is now based on the Sharpness-Gloucester canal where it enjoys one of the longest stretches of unlocked water in the country. It has enjoyed considerable success both at a local and national level over the years and a number of National Squad members started their rowing careers at Gloucester.
The annual Gloucester Rowing Club Spring Head will take place on Sunday 4th March, with the first division starting at 11am
The event poster is attached below, and more information will be added in due course.
Note: BROE will open for entries on Wednesday 24th January
We had a HUGE turnout for our Xmas festive fun day last Saturday resulting in lots of side by side 8s racing in scratch crews. The athletes represented the breadth of our membership: young and old(er), those who have barely started their rowing careers to those who have been rowing for more years than they probably care to remember. Costumes were suitably Christmassy - elves, antlers, tinsel, Santa hats, and a few preferring more Dickensian (bah humbug) attire. Many thanks to IJ and Sue Johnson for organising the event, to our coxes Steve J (AKA Coxing Santa) and Heather, Charlie (AKA Safety Launch Santa), George and children for setting up and clearing away, Chris W for being master of ceremonies, and to the many people who brought food to share.
Come and join us for festive, fancy dress racing Big boats, mixed crews, breakfast and mince pies.
ALL welcome (including coaches!)
Please sign up early by emailing us at email@example.com or signing up on your squad list.
£1 to enter (to cover food costs).
