Gloucester Rowing Club were represented in two events at Henley - the Wyfold and the Princess Grace Challenge.

The coxless four of Ben, Dan, Tim and Sam were racing on Wednesday. They had a good solid row, but sadly were eliminated in their heat against a powerful London Rowing Club crew - London 'B', noting that there were London A, B, C and D. London B went on to lose against the eventual winners, Nottingham in the semi final, while London A lost in the final.

Our other representative, Beth Rodford in the Gloucester Leander composite quad had a cracking regatta, braking the course record to the barrier, and eventually winning by five lengths in the final. Congratulations Beth. There are some excellent photographs elsewhere on the site.

Latest news from the Junior Squad is that Ruth, Yasmin and Camilla have all been selected to represent GB at the Junior World Championships.

They will spend 3-4 weeks at the GB training camps now preparing for the World Championships in August.

And an update on the Work Day this coming Sunday, 11th July. The jobs that we would like to tackle are:
Fencing in the regatta field
Building boat racks at the front of the club
Tidying the boat and club house
Sorting, Painting and adjusting blades
Boat repairs
Renewal of shoes in boats

If we are to tackle this lot, we will need all the help we can get, so please come along and help. the day will run from 10.30, (after training) through until 3pm. There will be a barbeque and refreshments.
