Support for Gloucester Round Table Fireworks
The boat club has the opportunity to provide stewards for the Round Table fireworks display again this year which take place on 4th November at the Gloucester Docks. The Round Table will make a donation to the boat club depending on the number of people volunteering their services. So it makes a lot of sense to help out, not only do you get to watch a splendid firework display for free but you also do some fund raising for the boat club. Not only that, but you also support the Round Table in one of their major fund raising events of the year which will help local charities.
So make sure you collar Mukend and give him your name or allow your self to be volunteered into helping.

Water Board cancels Long Distance Head
The Water Board have advised Gloucester Rowing Club that the Long Distance Head planned for Sunday 22nd October can not now go ahead. The reason for this, they say, is that they did not realise it would start at Purton and would require competitors to row under several low bridges (i.e. competitors would have to duck).
We can only apologise to all the crews who had entered what would have been a really good race along some of the finest water in the country.
